Islamabad: If the Pakistan Meteorological Department is to be believed, then the week starting today (Monday) will get off to a rainy start.According to a weatherman, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Monday, rain coupled with thunderstorms is expected at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Malakand, Hazara, Lahore and Gujranwala divisions, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.Snow will fall over hills in these regions. The rainy spell caused by a shallow westerly wave will last for two days affecting upper parts of the country. Suggesting the continuation of the cold wave, the PMD has already forecast above normal rainfall and snowfall in the country for the current month saying the temperatures will gradually increase. It said the day and night temperatures over the country would gradually increase in February with the average night temperatures likely to be slightly above normal.
