AJK PM slates Modi over tension at LoC before polls

ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Sunday said Indian prime minister was escalating tension on LoC before the election for political reasons and could go to any extent after having banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and now Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF).He urged the world community here at a news conference for playing its due role in finding a solution to the lingering Kashmir dispute before it was too late, as already Indian occupation forces in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) had crossed all limits.He said they needed to project and highlight the ongoing Indian worst right abuses in IHK against men, women and even young children, at international forums to unmask the ugly face of India. He said lasting peace in the region could not return without resolving lingering Kashmir issue.Raja Farooq said, “We are consulting all the political parties to make an effective strategy on Kashmir.” He condemned the siege and search of APHC leadership and harassing their families in the held valley.About his recent meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, he said that it had been quite good and. Prime Minister Raja Farooq slammed the ban on JI and JKLF after Pulwama incident, asserting it was totally unjustified and insisted such tactics would not deter the Kashmiris from their struggle for freedom from Indian occupation.He said the APHC leaders and Kashmiri youths were being sent behind bars after their arrests by occupation forces in IHK. “India is using cheap tactics to divert attention of the international community from its long continuing atrocities in Kashmir,” he decried.Raja Farooq emphasised that all the political leadership of AJK were on one page when it comes to Kashmir. He said Pakistani forces proved that they were not subdued by the might of Indian forces. Pakistani forces taught them a lesson by downing two of its aircraft.He explained, “AJK government has written letter to Secretary General OIC and Chairman Human Rights Committee of European Parliament to apprise them of the prevailing situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.” He added that the international community should take notice of intensification of human rights abuses and atrocities by Indian in IHK keeping in view of the recent escalation between the two countries which could have triggered further.AJK premier made it clear that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi intentionally increased hostilities and aggravated the situation in IHK and LoC before general elections in India.He assured all out help by his government to the Indian forces’ firing victims and appreciated the fact how people living close to border were braving the grave situation. “They are being targeted by Indian forces unabated. He said he would make a strategy on how his government could help them effectively after completing the visits to all the affected areas at LoC,” he observed.Raja Farooq expressed gratitude to the government of Pakistan, saying they always supported people of Kashmir. Meanwhile, the spouse of JKLF head Yasin Malik, Ms. Mushaal Malik strongly condemned the banning of JKLF, saying the unlawful act once again exposed the dirty face of the so-called largest democratic country before the world.Ms Malik, in a statement, said that brutal Indian authorities believed that they could silence the powerful voice of Kashmiri people by banning Yasin Malik’s party and putting him behind bars under the Indian draconian laws. She emphasised that the oppressors could neither change the reality of the Kashmir dispute nor deprive the Kashmiri people of their legitimate right to self-determination anymore through such tactics.
