LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has decided to make direct liaison with citizens and the latest IT system has been set up in his office for this purpose.According to a handout issued Friday, he will directly contact with the citizens in different offices and Khidmat Centres through a video link. The citizens will directly talk to the chief minister to express their opinion about the departments concerned.The chief minister will take direct feedback from the citizens about various services being provided in the government offices. Direct contact with citizens through modern IT system will greatly help to improve good governance and public delivery system. He will personally select the spot and time to contact with the citizens.He has made direct contacts with citizens through a video link in the offices of Regional Transport and Director Development of Dera Ghazi Khan. He also contacted citizens at Khidmat Centre at Arfa Kareem Technology Park. Usman Buzdar listened to the people’s problems in these offices and issued on-the-spot directions to redress their grievances.It was a pleasant experience for the people of DG Khan when the chief minister directly addressed them and said that ‘I am Usman Buzdar speaking’. The citizens lauded the initiative of the chief minister for his direct liaison with them and said it was a matter of great pleasure for them when the chief minister directly contacted them despite the distance of hundreds of miles.Talking to the citizens, Usman Buzdar said that he was people’s representative and modern technology was being utilised for direct liaison with people as it greatly helped to save the resources and time.He said that he would continue to make contact with the people of other districts of the province. He expressed his determination that he would not let anything to create hurdle between him and the people as the provision of facilities to the people of the province is his mission.
