CRA launched in south Punjab

MULTAN: The Punjab government has introduced a mobile application ‘Civil Registration App’ in the south Punjab to collect citizens’ data regarding death, birth, marriage, divorce and other legal documents.It was said by Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik while addressing a seminar held under the aegis of the Punjab government and the UNICEF here on Monday. The DC said that the district administrations would arrange trainings for the union council staff to operate the application. The health focal persons would use the application at hospitals at the time of new birth and death, he told. The prime objective of the new application was distribution of resources for human development, he continued. The deputy commissioner said that each district would have to save basic data of citizens through the CRA to design development schemes and distribution of resources.He asked the citizens to submit correct data to protect their basic rights. The whole record of death, birth marriages and divorce would be available online and citizens could check their status any time, he said.
