Dry, cold weather to continue

Islamabad: After unprecedented spell of rainfall at the advent of the spring season the weather turns dry and cold as continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country.According to Pakistan Meteorological Department on Friday mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country along with subsequent light rain expected at few places in Quetta division.The weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country during the past 24 hours. However, rain-thunderstorm (with snowfalls over the hills) accompanied by gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi divisions and Kashmir.The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Malamjabba 11mm, Kakul 04 mm, Saidu Sharif & Balakot 01 mm, Kashmir: Garhidupatta & Rawalakot 03 mm, Muzaffarabad 01 mm, Punjab: Murree 05 mm, Chakwal 03 mm.The snowfall maximum recorded in Malamjabba 03inc and Murree 02inc. The mercury level in the past 24 hours was Kalam -7°C, Parachinar -4°C, Malamjabba & Astore -3°C, Gupis& Bagrote -2°C and in Hunza & Murree -1°C.
