Efforts on for rehabilitation of Mahsud tribe: corps commander

WANA: Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-Gen Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood on Thursday said that civil administration and army were jointly making hectic efforts for the rehabilitation of Mahsud tribe as the people in South Waziristan had suffered a lot during the war on terrorism in the region.“The government has adopted a multi-pronged strategy to reconstruct the destroyed infrastructure and rehabilitate the displaced people of the area,” the corps commander told reporters after addressing a jirga of Dray Mahsud tribe in South Waziristan.Inspector General Frontier Corps (South) Maj-Gen Abid Latif, Dera Ismail Khan Commissioner Javed Marwat, South Waziristan Deputy Commissioner Nauman Afzal Afridi and other officials were present on the occasion as well.He said the backwardness in the area would be ended by constructing houses, infrastructure, providing health and education facilities besides adopting farming along modern lines.
