BARA: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) president for erstwhile Fata and former MNA Akhunzada Chattan has said the government should honour the pledges it had made before the merger of the former tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.Talking to reporters at Bara Press Club here, he said the government should honour the promises with tribespeople.He said the Khassadars and Levies force should be merged into police and they be provided facilities given to police.Chattan explained the political leaders, social workers, lawyers and journalists rendered sacrifices for the abolition of the Frontier Crimes Regulation.He accused the provincial government of trying to occupy the resources of the erstwhile Fata."The government first sent the mineral resources minister to tribal districts," he allegedHe added the government should have sent the ministers of education and health to the merged districts."The government should not interfere in erstwhile Fata till the election for the provincial assembly seats for the merged districts," he said.He said the government should announce provincial assembly seats' election to give the representation to the tribespeople.He said tribal journalists rendered sacrifices during militancy and paid tribute to martyred journalists Nasrullah Afridi and Mahboob Shah Afridi.Chattan flayed provincial Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai, who has not visited the tribal districts.
