Genuine cases must not be dubbed victimisation: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry Wednesday said those facing genuine cases should not dub the on-going accountability process political victimisation.Talking to journalists at different events here, the minister claimed that the people, who were talking about political vendetta, should not construe masses as goof by calling the accountability process as political victimisation. He made it clear that Prime Minister Imran Khan had nothing personal against both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari and alleged that Nawaz, who was punished in fair cases, believed that still people would listen to him.“Even if family members of Nawaz and Zardari are asked about them, they will also call them corrupt,” he noted. Fawad emphasised that a new Pakistan had emerged in which there was no place for corruption. The minister claimed that when Imran was a cricket star, Nawaz would receive him in costly cars. “These political parties are today afraid of him, under whose leadership, the rotten political system was challenged,” he continued. He said none in the past had dared to challenge this system.Fawad noted that Pakistan was entering into a new era and that the PTI was a masses’ party, which had laid foundation of a new Pakistan by doing away with the nexus between two major political parties.“The youth has voted for us, keeping in mind their future and the PTI promoted national politics instead of regional politics. Wrong policies of the past governments had destroyed the state institutions,” he maintained.Fawad said the PTI has emerged as a vibrant force in all the four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan under the dynamic leadership of Imran Khan. He said youth were the agents of real change in Naya Pakistan and added that Pakistan was blessed with huge number of young people and they would play a crucial role in national development in future.Appreciating the role of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa youth in strengthening the PTI in the province, the minister said political vision of the youth was enlightened for welfare of the country. Fawad claimed that the success of the PTI under the charismatic leadership of Imran Khan was a revolution of middle class and promised that the government would create numerous job opportunities aimed at harnessing the potential of youth. He again explained that PTI (government) neither had filed cases against the leaders of two major political parties nor it appointed the NAB officials. He said all the main leaders of both the parties were implicated in various cases relating to corruption during the tenures of previous governments.
