JI condemns attacks on NZ mosques

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has strongly condemned the terrorist attack at a mosque in New Zealand and termed it as an attack on Islam and the entire Ummah.The JI Ameer called upon the government to immediately call an OIC meeting to take notice of the incident and devise a strategy for the protection of the Muslims against terrorism. Siraj said in the recent times, the incidents of terrorism against Islam and the Muslims had increased at an alarming rate in the western and European countries. Attacks on the mosques, madrassas and veil observing Muslim women had become a routine.He said the attack on the faithful during prayers was the worst form of terrorism and the Muslims rulers should not remain silent on it. He said the governments should not be content with verbal condemnation and should expose the terrorists involved in the incident and the forces behind them. The JI chief prayed for the salvation of the martyrs and for the quick recovery of the injured. Fateha was also offered for the martyrs at Mansoora mosque.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday strongly condemned firing at two masajid in New Zealand and expressed deep grief over the loss of precious human lives.Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari has strongly condemned the tragic incident of terror taken place in the mosques of Christchurch, New Zealand. ;Expressing his condolence, the minister said the attack on unarmed and peaceful Muslims proves terrorists had no religion. He said the attacker was a cowered who acted against innocent Muslims.The minister appealed to the Muslims all over the world to remain calm and peaceful and convert this tragedy into their strength for peace. He said terrorists had committed heinous act of brutality by attacking sacred place of Muslims which must be condemned in all its forms and manifestation. He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the departed souls eternal peace.
