Islamabad: Khayaban-e-Soharwardi which was closed due to security reasons years back, will be opened for routine traffic from March 18. The road is being opened for general public from Monday after completion of its rehabilitation and up-gradation which was started around two months ago. Opening of the Khayaban-e-Soharwardi will ease the traffic flow on Kashmir Highway and adjacent roads particularly at traffic signal of 7th Avenue and Kashmir Highway.Commuters had to face difficulties due to closure of this avenue during peak hours. Opening of this road will help smooth flow of traffic emerging from Zero Point, leading toward Aabpara and 7th Avenue and traffic emerging from Aabpara leading toward Zero Point. Before opening of the road, CDA had decided to revamp the road to ensure un-interrupted traffic flow.
