OKARA: A man was beaten to death over an eve-teasing issue here on Tuesday.Zafar Iqbal, his wife Asia Bibi and daughters Amina Zafar and Anbar Zafar, residents of Haji Chowk Gogera, were returning home after attending a marriage at 29/GD village when two motorcyclists Mohsin and Javed allegedly started teasing the girls. At this, Zafar tried to stop them. Later, they allegedly beat Zafar Iqbal. As a result, Zafar Iqbal died on the spot. Gogera police have registered a case.SECURITY INSPECTED: DPO Athar Ismail on Tuesday visited the shrine of Hazrat Daud Bandgi at Shergarh to check security arrangements on his Urs. The DPO checked the security arrangements and issued orders on the spot. He said that no compromise would be made on security of shrines and other places.7 HELD WITH NARCOTICS: Seven drug pushers were arrested with narcotics here. The police arrested Nasreen Bibi with 1kg opium, Sajida Bibi with 1,600 grams charas. Younus with 20 litres liquor, Abid with 23 litres liquor, Saeed Ahmad with 520 grams charas and Abid with 16 litres liquor.2 DEAD IN ACCIDENTS: Two people died in separate road accidents here on Tuesday. A van overturned while taking U-turn. As a result, van passenger Majid of Faisalabad died on the spot while Suleman was injured. In another incident, Nasreen Bibi of 11/1AL village was crossing the National Highway when a speeding truck crushed her to death.
