SIALKOT: Police Saturday registered a case against nine policemen over the theft of 300 kg hashish from the police station.According to police, a few days ago Additional District and Sessions Judge Naeem Abbas ordered the Rangpura police to produce 300 kg hashish that was seized in 2002. The police booked cops M Aslam, Tariq Mehmood, Ultaf Ali, Mian Khalil, Mian Mansha, Akbar, Nur Ahmed and others over the theft of the narcotics from the police station. He opined that Western world had adopted double standards which could cause problems in future.He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had dismissed a Punjab Minister for his irresponsible statement about minorities, which was a clear proof that Pakistan had zero tolerance against religious extremism and fundamentalism.Injured man dies at hospital: A man, who was inflicted injuries by three attackers the other day, died at a hospital on Saturday. Khalil, 24, was shot at and injured on March 7 and was taken to a Lahore hospital where he died.Police registered a case against accused Abdullah Alvi, Ali Hasan and Dhian Ali.FEMALE STUDENT KIDNAPPED: A female student of first year was kidnapped on Saturday. According to police, Emaan, a student of the first year of a private college of Maharaja Road visited the college. When she was returning from the college, two boys and two girls kidnapped her. The police have registered a case against the accused.5 POWER THIEVES HELD: Police on the report of the Gepco authorities Saturday arrested five power thieves.Rangpura police arrested accused Zahid and Salim from Bazaar Loharan. Cantonment police detained accused Samiullah from village Thhathhi Kalan. Uggoki police arrested accused Afzal from village Golu Phala and the Sadder Pasroor police arrested Zafar Iqbal from village Saianwala. Cases were also written against the accused.5 HELD OVER SAND‘S ILLEGAL SALE: Police booked five accused on charges of selling sand illegally. Five accused were booked for excavating sand from Dek nullah without permission. On the report of Assistant Director Mines and Minerals Usman, a case of theft had been registered against five accused identified as Zain, Baber, Ali Raza, Zaheer and Zulfiqar for stealing sand from Dek nullah near village Dullam Kahlwan, in the limits of the Phalora police station.
