Parties not to support no-trust against Mansehra Nazim

MANSEHRA: The parliamentary leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in the district council have announced not to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in its no-confidence motion against the district nazim aligned with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).“We are allies of the PML-N district government and would never support any move by the PTI to dislodge district nazim from his office,” stated Malik Farooq, the district president of the PPP and parliamentary leader of his party, while speaking at a news conference on Monday. The parliamentary leaders of the JUI-F and JI, Malik Naveed Khan Ihtisham Ali, also addressed the presser. Farooq said the government had gone through the tendering process for the development schemes worth over Rs200 million and they would not allow anybody to disturb that process.“I would advise PTI not to indulge in politics of confrontation at this stage because hardly four months are left before the end of the local government term in the province,” he said. On the occasion, Malik Naveed said that District Nazim Sardar Said Ghulam was enjoying the majority, which couldn’t be surpassed by the PTI.“The district government would complete term in office and if anybody attempted to destabilise our government through an undemocratic way, we will resist it,” said Naveed. He said the allied parties in the district government including JI, JUI-F and PPP backed the PML-N. Malik Ihtisham told the news conference that a no-confidence motion at a time when local governments were about to complete term, was nothing but an undemocratic move.
