PML-N women activists hailed for motivating voters

MANSEHRA: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has lauded its female activists, who succeeded in bringing female voters to polling stations in record numbers during the by-election held on February 26 in PK-30.“Though our contender lost election, it’s an encouraging sign that our female activists succeeded in bringing a record number of women voters to polling stations and remote and inaccessible areas,” Uzma Waheed, the district president of PML-N women wing, told reporters here on Saturday. Accompanied by office-bearers of the party, Uzma said that a total of 90,610 votes were polled in the by-election and 37,886 were of female voters. “This is a great step in the right direction as for the first time such a large number of women voters showed up at polling stations and exercised their right of vote in this constituency, which is mostly stretched over high mountains and inaccessible parts of Balakot and Kaghan valley,” she said.
