Seven members of a family found dead in Tando Jam

SUKKUR: As many as seven members of a family were found dead in their house in Tando Jam on Wednesday. The bodies were recovered from their house in village Shah Nawaz Junejo near Tando Jam on Wednesday.The dead were identified as 55-year-old teacher Ashraf Hayat Umar Junejo, his wife 45-year-old Shehnaz, his son Jawad, his daughters Nisha, Aliza and Laraib. Failing to see any of the family members for the last three days, the neighbours informed the relatives of the Junejo family who broke open the lock and found them all dead. Subsequently, the police were also informed who shifted the bodies to the nearby government hospital for medico legal procedures.The SSP Tando Jam, Sarfaraz Nawaz, said no marks of any injuries were seen on the bodies of the deceased. He said the deceased Ashraf Hayat Umar Junejo was the head teacher of a primary school in Bachal Bhatti. He said the school teachers tried to contact the deceased but there was no response from his phone.The DIG Hyderabad, Naeem Shaikh, said according to preliminary medical examination the cause of death looks to be inhalation of carbon monoxide from the power generator at their house. Body specimens are being sent for chemical and pathology tests which would finally determine the actual cause of death.
