MIRANSHAH: An aged woman sustained injuries in a landmine explosion in Tabitolkhel area in North Waziristan tribal district on Thursday. Local sources said that 65-year-old Dawar Bibi was collecting firewood for her home when she stepped over a landmine in Tabitolkhel area. As a result, the woman was severely injured, who was rushed to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Bannu. Landmines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are posing a serious threat to the lives of local people in North Waziristan and elsewhere in the merged districts. Many people, including men, women and children have been killed and maimed in landmines explosions in the erstwhile Fata.
