CJ dreamt of model courts in 2017

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa dreamt of countrywide model courts in 2017 when he was the senior most judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC), and he established them for provision of expeditious, inexpensive justice after becoming the CJP.District and Sessions Judge and Director General of 116 model courts Sohail Nasir expressed these views while addressing a conference here on Saturday.He said being the senior most judge of the LHC, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa established model courts in the Punjab for provision of speedy, inexpensive justice.Surprising results were coming out when he started making the Punjab judiciary active for prompt, cheap justice.He said the CJP had approved formation of model courts after in-depth study.Sohail Nasir said when Justice Asif Saeed Khosa became the Chief Justice of Pakistan in January 2019 he set up model courts across the country by using his Punjab experience.“Now the whole nation is seeing our confidence and satisfaction and his (CJP) dream of providing prompt, inexpensive justice to the people has been fulfilled,” he said.The CJP, he said, got prepared documents for these courts from us.
