CTD arrests two Daesh terrorists

LAHORE: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday claimed of foiling a terrorist plan in Bahawalpur and arresting two alleged terrorist affiliated with ISIS (DAESH).During the operation, CTD officials have seized explosives and hand grenades. According to a CTD handout, the agency had received a tip-off that terrorists of a banned organisation were planning to attack sensitive installations in Bahawalpur. Following the lead, the CTD teams conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in the area of Police Station Sadar, Bahawalpur and arrested two terrorists belonging to DAESH.The names of alleged terrorist are Hikmat Shah and Ahmad Raza. The CTD claimed darning initial investigation the accused terrorists claimed that the target was given and funded by the Commander of ISIS currently living in Afghanistan. Funds for terrorism financing were also recovered from them, CTD further claimed.
