Have shed my own blood: Varun Dhawan opens up about his role in ‘Kalank’

Varun Dhawan is all set to hit the big screen with his captivating look from Kalank. The actor who is excited for the trailer launch of his upcoming film talked about his experience and challenges for his role Zafar in Kalank.In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Varun has revealed the challenges he faced into creating ‘Zafar,’ his character in Kalank and how he prepared for the most challenging role of his career so far.The 31-year-old actor said that he is most excited about the bull-fighting sequence. He told the daily, “The blood you see is my own because Zafar is the kind of guy who will come out of a crisis with a smirk.” As seen in the posters, the set resembling the Colosseum was built for the scene in Mumbai and a portion was also shot in Kargil where despite the frosty weather Varun had to go bare-bodied.The scene filmed for over eight days. “I moved into a hotel in Goregaon to save time and since I had suffered a knee injury and hamstring tear at the time. I had physios visiting me daily. But I managed to continue with my twice-a-day training session at the hotel and in the make-shift gym on the set with my trainer Prashant Sawant.”The ‘Badlapur’ star also talked about how he came to know that director Abhishek Verman wanted him to perform all the action sequences himself. “Later I learnt that he had told Sham Kaushal (action director) that he wanted me to do every stunt myself and instructed him to put me through wringer, banging me against the wall and throwing me off a height.”He also shared pictures of his new avatar on Twitter. “ZAFAR trailer out tomorrow #kalank,” he wrote.After releasing two songs from the film, makers will release the first trailer tomorrow on Wednesday. Varun Dhawan will be seen paired with Alia Bhatt alongside Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
