PESHAWAR: A petition was moved on Thursday in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking directions for the provincial government and Prisons Department to start remissions to convicted prisoners on blood donations as provided in the prison rules. The petition was filed by lawyer Amanullah Pirzada, in which he prayed before the court to issue directions to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and Inspector General of Prisons Department to start screening tests and blood donations of the prisoners across the province. The petitioner prayed before the court to direct the respondents to specify different cells for those prisoners who were diagnosed during tests prior donation of blood and found suffering from infectious diseases like Hepatitis C virus (HCV), B virus (HBV), HIV (Aids), T.B and other infectious diseases and be kept separated from other healthy prisoners in the different cells.
