Rs5.45 bn approved for projects in tribal districts

PESHAWAR: Under the directive of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Provincial Relief and Rehabilitation Department has approved 668 projects for militancy affected merged districts with an estimated cost of Rs5.45 billion.About 27 projects worth Rs490.53 million have been approved for Mohmand district, Rs330.34 million for 52 projects in Bajaur, Rs1.5 billion for 77 projects in Orakzai, Rs 420.25 million for 40 projects in Khyber, Rs1.6 billion for 136 projects in North Waziristan, Rs950.77 million for 216 projects in South Waziristan and Rs1.12 billion for 120 projects in Kurram.About Rs.2.32 billion have been approved for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of 238 schools in merged districts, Rs. 1.83 billion for 258 clean drinking projects and Rs760.62 million have been approved for 73 projects relating to health, said a statement issued by the rehabilitation department here on Tuesday.
