Unavailability of leishmania injections protested By our correspondent

GHALLANAI: The residents of Safi tehsil in Mohmand district on Friday blocked the Peshawar-Bajaur Road in protest the non-availability of injections for leishmania.Chanting slogans against the government, they said the number of leishmania patients was increasing day by day, but there were no injections to treat them. The protesters said the local people, who were mostly poor, could not buy the injections from the market as these were very expensive. An official of the local Basic Health Unit told The News that the District Headquarters Hospital in Ghallanai had provided 10 injections to them, but these were not sufficient as they had 113 registered patients of leishmania.
