MANSEHRA: The Upper Kohistan administration has constituted a committee to compile a report of the damage caused by the recent rains in the district."We have reopened the Karakoram Highway to traffic with the support of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and constituted a committee to compile damage report caused by rains in the district," Deputy Commissioner Arif Khan Yousafzai told reporters on Sunday.The heavy landslide, which had blocked the KKH and damaged eight abandoned slum houses in Shatial, was removed clearing the main artery to traffic. The heavy machinery was moved at landslide portion by FWO to clear the road and traffic between Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was restored. "I have constituted a committee comprising of officials of revenue and other departments to visit village to village in the district and compile the damage report," said Arif Yousafzai.He said that weekly and other holidays of government officials were cancelled and heads of departments were asked to remain vigilant at their offices to cope with any untoward situation.
