SUKKUR: As many as five people, including two minors, were killed and three injured in various accidents on Friday in Sukkur region. Reports said two pillion riders, including a mother Nihalla and her 10-year-old daughter Benazir Wassan, were killed, while her son Rashid Ali got injured, when a speeding truck ran over their motorcycle at the National Highway near Tando Masti in Khairpur.In another accident, a Karachi-bound coach hit a motorcycle that resulted in the death of commuting couple identified as of Muhammad Razzaq and his wife Kari, while their six-month-old girl Karima and a woman Naseeba got injured at the National Highway near Wadho Wah in Hyderabad. The police have arrested the bus driver Qabil Hussain and said the victims belonged to Umerkot. Reports said a three- year-old girl, Zeena, d/o Muhammad Ramzan Brohi, died on Friday after she fell into a manhole in the Mustafa Colony of Dharki in Ghotki. Reports said she fell into a manhole while she was playing near her home. The residents staged a demonstration and demanded to register an FIR against municipal administration for their criminal negligence.
