MANSEHRA: The police have arrested Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mufti Obaidullah after Peshawar High Court's Abbottabad Circuit Bench cancelled his pre-arrest bail in the murder of District Education Officer (DEO) Kolai-Palas (Kohistan) Nawab Ali. "We have arrested Mufti Obaidullah when the PHC Circuit Bench in Abbottabad cancelled his pre-arrest bail and produced him for obtaining his physical remand before the Kolai-Palas judge," Arif Javed, the head of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) told reporters here on Tuesday.The JIT had been constituted by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hazara Range Mazharul Haq Kakakhel.Justice Ejaz Anwar of Abbottabad Circuit Bench ordered the arrest of Mufti Obaidullah, a PML-Q lawmaker from Kohistan, by setting aside his pre-arrest bail. The JIT, which was led by Senior Superintendent of Police Mansehra, Arif Javed had disclosed in its finding that DEO Nawab Ali was killed by a group of 11 people, including clerks of his office, and Mufti Obaidullah after the former refused to appoint 17 lower grade employees on their demand.The suspects in the blind murder of Nawab Ali including Badil Khan and Mohammad Iqbal, both the senior clerks at DEO office in Kolai-Palas, Pasand Khan, a dispatcher in Education Department, Mohammad Iqbal, Abdul Wadood, Dost Mohammad, Obaidullah all applicants for post of drivers, Noorul Haq, a teachers in Education Department, Fakharuddin and Zakir Khan were arrested in October this year and Mufti Obaidullah was on pre-arrest bail.District Police Officer of Kolai-Palas Iftikhar Khan told reporters that District and Sessions Judge Kolai-Palas, Saifullah Jan handed over MPA Mufti Obaidullah to police on a one-day physical remand.
