Pakistan, Central Asia can expand trade: Javed Malik

DUBAI: Javed Malik, President of Dubai Diplomat Business Club and former Ambassador of Pakistan, has said that expanding trade and economic linkages with other countries are fundamental for economic growth, and the business community can play a vital role by engaging more effectively with their counterparts in international markets. He was speaking at an International Business Seminar organized by Diplomat Business Club here in which businessmen from more than 30 countries were present, including a special delegation of businessmen from Azerbaijan Also present were Chairmen and representatives UAE based business councils Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, South Africa, Tunisia, Ukraine, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, United Kingdom, United States, Romania, and other countries. Officials from government of Azerbaijan and UAE also spoke on the occasion. Speaking to the media after the seminar Javed Malik urged Pakistani businessmen and traders to further explore the abundant opportunities to expand their trade and export their products to central Asian countries as this would not only enhance their business but in turn, also contribute towards the economic progress of the country. He said that Diplomat Business Club is in discussions with various Chambers of commerce in Pakistan with a view to organizing exchange of business delegations between Pakistan and central Asian countries, especially Azerbaijan and thanked the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce for their cooperation.
