MANSEHRA: The army has supplied food and medicines to 21 members of different families who have been stranded in Beech Bala area of Choor valley in Lower Kohistan.“Army soldiers flew to airlift nine men, seven women and five children from the mountains that have received over 12 feet snowfall but they refused to leave abodes because of their livestock present there and instead sought food supply for their survival,” Suleman Khan, District Police Officer Lower Kohistan, told reporters on Friday.Flanked by District Police Officer Kolai-Palas, Iftikhar Khan, Suleman said the district administration had moved army helicopters following Siab Khan, stated to be the brother of the head of one of the stranded families, approached it for help.He said the stranded families were taking care of their livestock including 100 sheep and over two dozens of cows and refused to leave the area.“The police supplied stranded families with eatables and medicines in second air trip. We are hopeful that the stranded families would come down as snow melts,” said Suleman.
