LAHORE: Punjab Assembly on Monday unanimously demanded the federal government use its influence to force the Norwegian government for taking strict action against the culprits responsible for desecration of the Holy Quran.The Assembly made the demand through a unanimously passed resolution. Besides, the House passed another resolution with majority vote for naming the under construction public hospital in DG Khan after Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Buzdar, father of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.Ms Khadija Omar tabled the resolution condemning the desecration of the Holy Quran in Norway on behalf of all the parties in the House which demanded the federal government compel the Norwegian government for taking strict action against the culprits of the ugly incident which trampled the sensitive religious emotions of the entire Muslim world.The resolution also demanded the world must take concrete measures to prevent such provocative actions in future which hurt the sentiments of the Muslim ummah. The other resolution which was tabled by the treasury benches called for naming the new hospital being constructed in DG Khan after the late Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Buzdar, father of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.The Opposition members opposed the resolution but Law Minster Raja Basharat stated before the House that late Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar was a veteran politician and parliamentarian who had served the people of his area.He said the House must keep alive the positive tradition of giving the due credit to those who had done good services to the people. He said, “Sardar Fateh Muhammad’s services were praiseworthy and we should remember him.”
