PESHAWAR: Rallies were staged in the provincial metropolis and other parts of the province on Monday to condemn the recent desecration of the Holy Quran in Norway.In Peshawar, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl activists staged a demonstration to register anger and anguish at the lamentable act. The protesters were carrying banners and raising slogans. They praised a young man, Qusay Rashid, who had attacked the person who was trying to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in Norway.HANGU: The people from various walks of life led by Maulana Abdul Jalil took out protest rally from Adda Masjid. The speakers condemned the act and demanded the government to review ties with the Norwegian government.MINGORA: The JUI-F workers and locals staged the protest against the desecration. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Norwegian government.CHITRAL: The JUI-F workers staged a protest at the PIA Chowk in the Chitral Bazaar. A former MPA and district president Maulana Abdur Rehman said that the anti-religious acts could not be tolerated.GHALLANAI: The people led by MaulanaI Iftikhar Ahmed Haqqani staged protest in Mian Mandi Bazaar against the deplorable act in Norway.
