KP CM Mahmood Khan inaugurates security fort in Mohmand

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan visited the forward posts at Pak-Afghan border in Mohmand district where he inaugurated security fort.He visited the newly-constructed Cadet College Mamad Gat and addressed a jirga of tribal elders from Mohmand and Bajaur districts, said an official handout. The college has been completed in a short span of 14 months at an estimated cost of Rs760 million and is spread over an area of 77 acres. It has a capacity of accommodating 900 students with boarding facility available to 400 students.Briefing the chief minister, Inspector General Frontier Corps Major General Rahat Naseem said necessary arrangements have been ensured for the accommodating teachers, solarisation and construction of additional security post.Addressing the jirga from Mohmand and Bajaur districts, the chief minister stated that despite strong opposition from vested interest, the merger of the tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been completed. “It is our collective responsibility to make the merger a success to counter decades of exploitation of the tribal people,” Mahmood Khan. The chief minister added that the functioning of the already established institutions and infrastructure in the tribal districts was top-most priority.
